Privacy at Plum Ethical

Data collection

When you make an order, we need information such as your name, email address and delivery address, we also need your credit / debit card details. This information allows the transaction to take place, your parcel to be delivered, and allows us to contact you about the delivery if there are any issues.

Plum Ethical never stores your card details, ever.

We record your name and contact details, as well as information about the orders you have placed so that we can deal quickly with any queries, and so that, once registered, you can make future orders more quickly and easily.

We also keep a record of any email correspondence we have with you, this allows us to keep track of any concerns or queries you have had.

Cookies

'Cookies' allow websites to remember visitors, and any data that visitor has entered onto the website. Cookies not only allow visitor to be remembered between website visits, they also allow shopping baskets to be filled as you move around the shop. Without cookies webstores such as Plum Ethical would not work.

If you wish, you can set your browser to reject cookies (see instructions at www.aboutcookies.org), however if you do so the Plum Ethical website won't work, along all other online shops that we know.

What we do with your data

We will only use your data in the following ways: (i) To fulfill orders you place with us, which will include checks on your credit or debit card. (ii) To keep you informed of products and services from Plum Ethical about which you may be interested. (iii) To help plan the future of Plum Ethical by analysing what customers want; this may in principle, include sharing information with research companies so they can perform analysis on our behalf. In this case only the minimum necessary information will be shared, and it would be destroyed after the analysis is complete.

Your control over your data

You can remove your email address from all mailing lists by sending an email to simon@plumethical.com at any time.

Security

All purchases from Plum Ethical are processed on 256bit secure servers, via well-used and well-trusted card processing companies, employed by many, many many other shopping websites.
